Huntingdon's Lake Raystown Family Camping Resort is a location in Huntingdon. The 100-acre campground has tent, RV, and cabin accommodations. The campground has a catch-and-release pond and free WiFi. There are 60 acres of hiking trails. The resort also has a golf course and a marina. This resort is ideal for pet owners who want to enjoy a good time with their pets.
Two public beaches are located at the lake. The Seven Points region is the best area for a beach. You can rent a houseboat, or hire a boatman to take out the fisherman. A nice bonus is that the lake is also home to a number of museums filled with local history. Hesston Speedway, for those with a passion for racing, is a good choice.

There are several attractions within walking distance, including Trough Valley State Park, Allegrippis Trails and Whipple Dam State Park. All of these attractions are within easy reach of the campground. The Allegrippis Trails are actually part of Raystown Mountain Bike Skill Park. Although the park is small, it offers some of the most beautiful mountain biking trails in the state. Nearby Six Points Ski Area and Mount Hermon Ski Area are great places to explore and play.
The first class campsites at the lake are unmatched in proximity to the water. On more than 100 acres, there are 250 campsites. Each site has the necessary amenities such as a fire ring and an electric fire pit. They are also close to the aforementioned allegrippis, namely the hiking and biking trails.
You can't expect to find a luxurious RV or full-service cabin at the resort. A nice room is possible for a small amount of money. Raystown Lake Family Camp Resort also offers a variety of perks such as a catch and released pond, marina, swimming pool, and pet-friendly rooms. You will also find the resort on a scenic road through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
It is also surrounded on all sides by 21,000 acres of land that is public, most of which is part of the Army Corps of Engineers. The best of both the worlds is apparent when you consider the fact that the majority of the area is not open to residential development. Although there are a few houses that have been built, one unfortunately fell down the hill without warning. Cool fact: The resort also has a dog park. The resort requires that pets be on a six-foot lead outside their vehicle.

Raystown Lake Family Camping Resort offers a lot of fun gimmicks. You have to be careful when choosing between this or the other tweeps around the area. But it's well worth the visit. It's also the only one of its type in the region.
