Huntingdon is home to Lake Raystown Family Camping Resort. This 100 acre family campground offers tent, RV and cabin accommodations. It features a catch and release pond, free WiFi, and 60 acres of walking trails. The resort also features a marina, a green-grass course and a marina. This is the perfect place to bring your dog along if you're traveling with them.
There are two public beaches on the lake. The Seven Points area is the best place to find a beach. A houseboat can be rented on the lake, or you can hire a fishing guide to take you out on water. There are many museums on the lake that tell the story of local history. Hesston Speedway, for those with a passion for racing, is a good choice.

There are many attractions close by, including Trough Creek State Park and Allegrippis Trails. All of these attractions are within easy reach of the campground. In fact, the Allegrippis Trails is actually part of the larger Raystown Mountain Bike Skills Park. The park is small but offers some of best mountain biking trails in the entire state. The nearby Six Points and Mount Hermon ski areas are other places to visit and enjoy.
The lake's first-class campsites are close to the water. There are over 250 campsites located on more than 100 acre of land. Each includes the requisite amenities, including a fire ring, electric, and water. They are also near the aforementioned allegrippis: the hiking and biking trails.
It is not possible to expect a luxury RV or full service cabin at the resort. But you can expect to find a nice room at a reasonable price. Raystown Lake Family camping Resort offers many perks, including a catch-and-release pond, a marina and a swimming pool. There are also pet friendly rooms. You will also find the resort on a scenic road through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The lake is also surrounded by a whopping 21,000 acres of public land, much of which is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. It is interesting to note that there is a lot of protected land in the area, which makes it a great place for residential development. While there are some homes that have been built in the area, none of them were well-respected. One home was unfortunately lost on its way down. The resort also offers a dog-friendly area. Outside of your vehicle, pets must be on a leash that is six feet long.

Raystown Lake Family Camping Resort may have its share of tricks, but it's still a fun place to be. While there are some things you should consider when deciding between this resort and other nearby tweeps, it is worth a visit as it is the only one in the area.
